Morning Devotional July 30, 2016

Psalm 119:65-72

“Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O Lord, according unto thy word. Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments. Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes. The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart. Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law. It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.”

Notice here that he says “Before I was afflicted I went astray:”. Notice there is no pause or comma after “Before”. So what he is saying here is that he went astray before he was afflicted. Notice where the affliction comes from. It comes from our Lord.
Have you ever noticed how when we go astray it is usually when we think all things are going well in our life. Or when it seems our Lord is blessing us. It is at those times that we will become lax in our faith. We become so comfortable with our life and everything that God seems to be blessing us with that we fall into temptations or we follow after the world.
When our Heavenly Father comes to chastise us for not following His Word it is not a chastisement unto death or a form of His wrath. No, it is a show of His love toward us. It is Him teaching us that we can do nothing without Him. Even when we go astray and follow the world, He comes and breaks our leg like a shepherd would a lamb that has gone astray. And He carries us in His arms until we are healed. While that leg is broken and healing He teaches us His precepts. Then when we are healed and He is ready to turn us back with the rest of His flock the first thing we want to do is tell the others of the love of the Great Shepherd.
O what a wonderful experience to have that time with our Lord while we heal ! O what great lessons He teaches us during that time! O how He makes us willing to learn His laws and precepts!
Through affliction our Lord teaches us His statutes. “The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.” His law should be more precious to us than any wealth this world could afford. What a glorious God we serve!!!

Psalm 119:57-64

“Thou art my portion, O Lord: I have said that I would keep thy words. I intreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word. I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies. I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments. The bands of the wicked have robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy law. At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments. I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts. The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.”

Morning Devotional July 28, 2016

Psalm 119:49-56

“Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me. The proud have had me greatly in derision: yet have I not declined from thy law. I remembered thy judgments of old, O Lord; and have comforted myself. Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law. Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. I have remembered thy name, O Lord, in the night, and have kept thy law. This I had, because I kept thy precepts.”

I encourage you all to read God's Word daily. Study what you read. Think on what you read all through the day. Meditate on these things. What we read every morning should permeate our very pores. We should continuously have His Word on our minds and on our lips. It should be the very focus of our day and it should be what puts us to sleep every night.
What a shame that we have all this modern technology with so many different ways to read or listen to some else read God's Word and we waste it on games or on gossip or whatever sin comes to mind. What music and songs are we listening to? Are they godly? Are they spiritual? Are the words and the music Biblical?
God told us to do all things for His glory. Are we? We need to examine ourselves. Are we truly spending enough time in God's Word? Are we truly follow His precepts and commandments?
O child of God my prayer today is that we would all follow Him in everything we do. Give God the glory!!!

Praise ye the Lord!!!

Psalm 119:41-48
“Let thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, even thy salvation, according to thy word. So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word. And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments. So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever. And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts. I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed. And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved. My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.”

O child of God, stay close to His Word. Follow His commandments. Be not ashamed to of the truth of His Word. Meditate on the things God has written us in His Word.

Praise ye the Lord!!!

Psalm 119:33-40

“Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end. Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness. Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way. Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear. Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy judgments are good. Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.”

O how this ought to be our prayer every morning. Praise God for His teaching and understanding of His Word.

Psalm 119:25-32

“My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word. I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes. Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works. My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously. I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not to shame. I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.”

Morning Devotional July 18 2016

Psalm 119:17-24

“Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word. Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me. My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times. Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments. Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes. Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.”

Praise ye the Lord!!!

Psalm 119:9-16

“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes. With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.”

O how I pray that as God's child He permits me to learn more about His love from His Word daily. O what a glorious time to be had when we can set down with His Word open and He speaks to us through that very Word.
I encourage you all to take time each morning to study God's Word. Listen to what He has to say. Study His Word as He permits all through the day and before bed time each night. Put away the ways and the things of this world and study His Word. Learn of the great love He has for His children. Learn of His commandments for us. Study to shew thyself approved unto God.

Praise ye the Lord!!!

Psalm 119:1-8

“Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments. I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.”

Morning Devotional July 13, 2016

Galatians 5:13

“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”

The liberty we have in Christ is liberty from sin and not liberty to sin. So many Christians today want to claim this liberty sets them free to sin or that this liberty frees them from the consequences of their sin. But O child of God do not fall for this false teaching and trick of that ole slewfoot the devil.
Yes, we have been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ and He has washed away all our sin. But, while we still live in this old sinful world and in these old sinful bodies we will continue to sin. The blood of Christ has saved us from hell and from eternal torment by giving us eternal live in Him. While in this life we are still responsible for our actions. Our sin can no longer send us to hell but as children of God He will chastize us for our sins. Just as we punish our children when they disobey. God punishes His children when we disobey. His punishment is for correction and not condemnation. Only those who are not His will see condemnation.
So if we truly love God and have a desire to follow Jesus Christ our sins will grief us. His Holy Spirit that lives within us will prick our heart and make us want to seek forgiveness. And though the punishment may still come, He makes us understanding of that punishment and it's need.
Seek Christ in all things. Follow Him and His commandments. Pray without ceasing. Run from temptations and sins. Praise God continuly!!!

Morning Devotional July 10, 2016

Psalm 139:14

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

O what a glorious thought!!! To know our Maker and to know how much love and grace He put into making us!!! O what wretched sinners we are for not praising our God for this!!!
O the many marvellous works He has performed in our lives. We should be praising God every moment for the many undeserved blessings He has bestowed upon us.
On this first day of the week. The day we observe as the Lord's Day. Start a new habit that will carry on everyday. Praise Him with everything in you. Praise His Holy name!!! Praise Him for all blessings!!! Praise Him for giving you life ever lasting!!! Praise Him!!! Praise Him!!! Praise Him!!! Without ceasing!!!
O fore our Heavenly Father is the only one who deserves all praise and glory. When things in this life have us down and depressed. Praise Him!!!
When this old sinful world seems to have it's wicked hold on us. Praise Him!!!
When satan's arrows come against us and the battle seems all but lost. Praise Him!!!
O child of God what a glorious Heavenly Father we have. O what a Savior we have in His Son Jesus Christ. The One and Only True Savior of lost man. “Praise Him from whom all blessings flow”!!!
And yes, if we are truly children of God, our “soul knoweth right well” all these things.

Praise ye the Lord!!!

Morning Devotional July 9, 2016

II Corinthians 10:17

“But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”

O child of God who do you glory in this morning? Who is the focus of your thoughts and your life?
O how we all need a lesson on humility towards God. Fore He is the only one deserving of our glory and praise.
So many times we put others and, yes, even ourselves above our Heavenly Father. Our families, our jobs, sports, television, internet, social media, our friends, and all these come from self. Wanting what we want and not caring what God's Word saids. O how many times do we forsake our love for our Heavenly Father for our love of self? How many times do we desire to spend time with what we want and not spend time with our Heavenly Father. How many times do we meet with others and never mention God or His Son? How many times do we forget who we are and whose we are?
We must remember, we are children of God!!! We are not our own. We were bought with a price. The price of the life and blood of the Son of God!!! What right do we have to be so selfish? What right do we have to glory in ourselves or in the things mention above?
Glory in our Lord only!!! Focus on Him only!!! Do all things to His glory!!! Praise Him always!!! He is the only one who deserves our praise and glory!!!

Praise ye the Lord!!!

Isaiah 61:10

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.”

O how marvelous is our God!!! O how deserving is He of our praise and rejoicing!!!

Child of God, O how we ought to be in continuous prayer and praise to our Heavenly Father for all the many blessings He has bestowed upon us. Rejoice evermore in our Lord!!!

Praise ye the Lord!!

Morning Devotional July 3rd, 2016

Psalm 46:10

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heaven, I will be exalted in the earth.”

O what a glorious God we serve!!! O what a marvelous Heavenly Father we have!!! Be still, listen for that still small voice, have patience and wait upon God!!!
Know that He is God and is our Savior from an eternity in hell. Know that He is God and without Him we have nothing and are nothing. O what a love our Heavenly Father has bestowed upon us!!! O what a Savior He gave us in His Son Jesus Christ!!!
O what a shame it is for us to deny the very God who has done all this for us and loved us without measure. O how we fail Him daily. O what wretches we are for sinning against Him.
O child of God, O how we ought to be on our knees constantly before God in prayer. Begging mercy for the wrongs we have commited against Him. O that He would strength our faith in Him!!!
Praise the Lord!!! Never stop communicating with Him. Stay in constant prayer with Him. We should be concerning ourselves with the things of our God and not the things of the world around us. We should consume ourselves with His Word and the word of the world. O Praise His name always!!!

Praise ye the Lord!!!

Morning Devotional July 2nd, 2016

Psalm 130:5

“I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.”

O child of God, are you waiting on the Lord? Are you being patient and waiting on His lead and His direction? Or are you trying to be in the lead? Are you following the popular teaching of toady which tells us we must follow self? How's self working for you? How is your leadship in your life working for you?
I encourage you, wait for the Lord. Forget what the world teaches and put all your hope in the Word of God!!!
Please understand, you are not alone in this. We all struggle daily with godly patience. We all must heed this teaching.
Wait for the Lord and hope only in His Word!!!

Praise ye the Lord!!!
