Revelation 1:17-18
“17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet
as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the
first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am
alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
The disciple whom Jesus loved! John the Apostle. At the time
of the writing of the Book of Revelation would have been the last living
Apostle. I don’t believe any of us could come close to imagining what all the
Lord permitted John to see of the things to come. The very first thing John
heard on that day was the voice of Jesus Christ. The very first thing he saw
after hearing that voice was Jesus walking among the golden candlesticks. The
one whom John had laid his head on His breast.
In all of the books John wrote he always expressed the love
Jesus had toward His people and especially to His bride the churches. John
taught us all to love one another as Jesus loved us. Oh, the knowledge and
wisdom we could learn from this dear brother about the example of love our Lord
and Savior has for us and we should have for Him and for each other.
I encourage you to study the words John was so inspired to
write.
Praise ye the Lord!!!
