Morning Devotional June 5, 2025

 

Psalm 147:1-11

“1Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

² The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

³ He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

⁴ He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

⁵ Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

⁶ The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

⁷ Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

⁸ Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

⁹ He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

¹⁰ He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

¹¹ The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.”

Morning Devotional June 3, 2025

 

Psalm 77:11-14

“¹¹ I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

¹² I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

¹³ Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

¹⁴ Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.”

Morning Devotional June 2, 2025

Proverbs 8:13

“The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.”

 

The month of June was officially declared “Pride” Month in the United States of America by then President Bill Clinton in 1999(by the way, he and his running mate Al Gore, proclaimed in their campaign they were good faithful Southern Baptist). It has gone downhill ever since. It is a sad day and time in which we live to see so many celebrate the pride of open sin and rebellion against the Creator and God. From the stores where we shop to the commercials on TV, to friends and family and coworkers, God’s people are inundated constantly with the “pride” of those who have chosen a life of rebellion against the Creator of all rather than a life of humble servitude to our Lord and Savior.

As God’s people our prayer should be that the Lord would open the eyes of those who are living in this rebellion and save their souls from their sins and for those of God’s children who support this, we should pray they see the truth of God’s Word in the matter.
