1 John 2:28-29
“28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when
he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his
coming.
29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every
one that doeth righteousness is born of him.”
If our Lord was
to come today to take His own out of this world, are we ready? What is the life
we now lead? Are we living in righteousness as our Lord instructed or following
after the world as He warned us not to follow? Do we have sin in our life that
would cause us to be embarrassed if the Son of God came tonight?
As members of
one of the Lord's churches, have we adorned ourselves as a bride while she awaits
the calling of her bridegroom to the wedding? Is this not what our Lord
commanded and expects of His Bride?
We must examine
ourselves and have that confidence John wrote of in verse 28. Humble ourselves
and repent of our sin, pray and seek His face. When the Bridegroom cometh, will
we be confident of our righteousness or ashamed of our sin?
Praise ye the Lord!!!
