Isaiah 40:28-31
“28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Verse 31 is often taken out of context today. We hear people referring to this verse and see it used and abused on social media and other places in print. People have taken this verse and used it to justify the false doctrine of man’s freewill. Yet, if you read this verse in the context in which it is written, you quickly see it is only by the grace of God our Creator we faint not and it is by His grace He increaseth our strength. Everything that people think they can do to bring verse 31 to fruition can only be by the Sovereign Grace of God. Our responsibility in these things is to wait upon the Lord. And that is all that we can do in this matter. It is God and only God who will give these promises to His people and only if it is His will and only in His time.
Praise ye the Lord!!!
