Deuteronomy 6:24-25
“24 And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes,
to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive,
as it is at this day.
25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to
do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.”
Do you love the Lord? Then follow His commandments. They are
not options, but commandments. From Genesis to Malichi we see the stories of
what can happen when God’s people rebel against their Heavenly Father. How the
rebellion started out as a little leave, then how it leavened the whole lump.
And for some odd reason God’s people today think we are exempt from God’s
chastisement.
Famous last words: “I’m faithful enough to not fall for
that.” Or “I can go there or do that or watch this or listen to that and it
will never draw me away from the Lord.”
