Psalm 63:1-8

“1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

² To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

³ Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

⁴ Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

⁵ My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

⁶ When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

⁷ Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

⁸ My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.”

Psalm 44:20-26

 

“20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;

 

21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

 

22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

 

23 Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.

 

24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

 

25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

 

26 Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake.”

“¹⁰ Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

¹¹ Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

¹² Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”
