Morning Devotional January 12, 2016

Romans 12:1-2

“I beseech you therefore, brethern, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

As children of God we are to live in a way that reflects who we are and whose we are. Paul tells us here and in many other places in His letters to the churches that we are to live according to how God would have us live and not according to the ways of the world. As children of God we are to set an example to those around us, whether they are our brothers and sisters in Christ or whether they are the children of satan. We are to act no different. If we are to follow the commandments of our Lord and Savior we must live according to those commandments and not according to the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. Paul tells us here to be not conformed to the world. But yet how many of us will do just that?
O child of God strive to follow the examples our Lord set for us. Seek His will and not after the wants of this world. Lead a life that is acceptable unto God. Leave behind all the lust and the pride of our former lives. Draw near to God. Stay in His Word. Stay in communion with Him through prayer. Leave the things of this world to this world and follow Christ.

Praise ye the Lord!!!
