1 John 2:15-17
“15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the
world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and
the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of
the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he
that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
This weekend the religious world celebrates their most
holiest of holidays. The doctrines of devils proclaimed as truth by Roman
Catholicism and her followers has permeated everything around us. To see the
very story of our Lord's death, burial, and resurrection polluted with tall
tales of Easter bunnies and Easter eggs and the images of a man hanging on a
cross should, not only sadden but should also anger those true believers that
our Lord would be so blasphemed.
As Baptist, we believe the Holy Scriptures to proclaim that
all those true and faithful members of the Lord's churches are what makes up
His Bride. So what fellowship should we have with the unbelieving world? Why
would we participate in pagan rituals that have been “Christianized” by the
great whore of Rome? We hear some say “Well, it is all for the children.” Is
it? Why would God's people tell a lie to the children He has entrusted us to
raise up in the admiration of the Lord? Why is it that many will give more heed
to Easter bunnies and egg hunts this weekend than to the Gospel of our Lord and
Savior? If it is truly for the children then why do many deny them the teaching
of the Gospel but have no problem with the teachings of the lust of the world?
To see a group who claims to be one of the Lord's churches
hold the pagan ritual of an Easter egg hunt on the same ground they proclaim to
worship our Lord and Savior is pure blasphemy in the eyes of our Heavenly
Father!!!
All Baptist churches I know make the claim that they are
“Proclaiming the truth.” Then why when it comes holiday time do you deny the
truth? Why do you side with the world and the world's religion instead of
standing on the truths of God's Word? When you put “Proclaiming the truth” as a
motto for your church maybe you should put in parenthesis next to it (except at
holiday time).
Come ye out of the world!!! If you love Christ then follow
His commandments. If you love Christ honor Him not the whore in Rome.
Praise ye the Lord!!!
