2 Timothy 3:16-17

“16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

Isaiah 26:3

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

Oh what a glorious promise from our Heavenly Father!!! How often we wonder why we seem to have no peace in our life? Well, here is the answer. If we expect to receive the promises of God we must keep our minds on Him and Him alone. When times seem to be tough and our way dreary, where do we go? Do we go to the world? Do we seek self-motivation? Or do we seek the Lord?

Over, and over, and over, and over again God instructs His people to turn to Him in times of despair. Yet, we are so inundated with the things of this life we often forget who we are and to whom we belong. The Creator of all things. The One who chose His people unto salvation before the world began. And how do we show our gratitude for all that He has promised us? We totally ignore His commandments and seek our own will and not His.

Who or what is your mind on today?

Praise ye the Lord!!!

1 Timothy 4:1-3

“1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”

“Some shall depart from the faith”. This is not to say they lose their salvation. If we read on we see they begin to give “heed to seducing spirits, and the doctrines of devils.” They become false preachers/teachers. Following after false doctrine rather than the truth.

We see much of this in our day. Pastors who once stood for the truth of God's Word seem to be following their own thoughts and whims or following after men who are popular with the religious crowd rather than simply following the Word of God.

It is a sad day when friends and/or family depart from “the faith once delivered unto the saints.”

We must remember II Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Praise ye the Lord!!!

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

“1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”

So many today are looking for signs and wonders of the Lord's return for His Bride and His people. I encourage you all to read this in it's context. So many will read verses 1-3 and stop and then base their whole theology of endtimes on those three verses. But notice 4 & 5. We who are children of light and children of the day, will not see His coming as a thief in the night. Why? Because the Lord's Bride is expecting His coming. Are we not told to watch and wait? Though we know not the day or the hour, it should be no surprise to us when Jesus does return in the clouds to call His Bride and her family unto Himself to go prepare for the wedding.

This weekend we are supposed to see another Blood Moon. And once again, the false prophets are out there making all kinds of predictions and preaching, writing books, and articles to fill their pocket books. And yes, once again many of God's people will naively follow the doctrines of devils instead of going to God's Word to see the truth.

In verse 1 Paul makes it clear that we are not to be concerned with the times or the seasons. Why? Because we are to always be ready to go. Have your bags packed and ready for when the Master calleth the Bride must be ready.

Praise ye the Lord!!!

1 Chronicles 16:24

“Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations.”

God has blessed us with the technology to reach others all over the world with Facebook live and YouTube and sermonaudio.com. Our prayer is that we are a blessing to those others and that God will see fit to save some of His elect and teach truth to some of His people in other places and lands through this little flock at King's Addition Baptist Church.

Psalm 96:3

“Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.”

And do we do this? When we go to the Book of Acts we see Missionaries. Men called of God, sent out by local New Testament churches to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in places we cannot physically go ourselves. What a blessing to be able to provide financial support to such men!

Today we will have such a man called of God to go to the wilderness of Wyoming come and preach for us from God's Word and then present the mission work God has called him too.

You may ask “How wild is Wyoming?” Study the history of our nation and in particular the western expansion in the 1800s and early 1900s. A lot of the people who moved from the east to the west left behind their “Christianity”. Much of the western states and territories were settled by men and women who were not as religious as their forefathers who settled the eastern part of our country a few generations before.

Is it any wonder there is so much of a show of ungodliness in places like California, Oregon, Washington, etc?

Pray for those men who God calls to the mission fields around the world. Pray for their families and for the people they preach the Gospel to.

Praise ye the Lord!!!

John 4:19-26

“19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.”

Praise God God's people are no longer required to follow the sacrifices and the other modes of worship given to Israel in the Law!!! Jesus Christ, the Son of God, fulfilled all those while here on this earth. We no longer are required to go to the Temple or a Synagogue to worship our Heavenly Father.

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”

Praise ye the Lord!!!
