Isaiah 57:15
“For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”
Lord willing, Bro. Gene Kiger will be here with us to start a week-long revival meeting. We look forward to this time every year because it seems like as we get closer to the end of the year we need reviving spiritually before the beginning of winter. Especially this being an election year here in the USA, people seemed to be more stressed or depressed than usual because of all the craziness going on between the presidential candidates.
We do not tell our visiting speakers what to preach. That is between them and the Lord. But, we are very careful of who we invite to fill our pulpit. As the pastor here I am very picky about the men we invite. Some outside our congregation may think I am too picky. But, there are men we trust to preach the truth and others whom we do not trust. There are men who have proven over the years they will preach from the Word of God and there are others who have been known to preach their own thoughts and feelings or the thoughts of other men. As a Landmark Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church we seek the truth and expect that from the men who we invite.
A time of revival should be a special time for a church. It is meant to be a time of reviving of the spirit by the Lord and a time of reminding us of who we are and whose we are. If we truly seek revival we must humble ourselves and seek the face of our Lord and repent of our sins. It is only then that He will revive us.
Praise ye the Lord!!!
