Psalm 40

I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord, thou knowest. I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation. Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me. For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me. Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha. Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified. But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.”

Psalm 46

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.”

Psalm 11

“In the Lord put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain? For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.”

Psalm 108

“O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth; That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me. God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver; Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph. Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom? Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts? Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.”

Psalm 118:29

“O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”

O give thanks unto the Lord!!! Only our Lord is worthy of our praise and our thanksgiving. As His children we have so much to be thankful for. We owe a debt we can never repay. And yet He does not require that repayment from us. He has forgiven us that debt. Our Heavenly Father sent His only begotten Son to pay that debt for us on the cross.
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the Son of God, paid the debt we could never possibly pay. He saved our souls from hell and everlasting torment and grief. His paying of this debt gave us an inheritance like we have never known. We are now joint heirs with Him. Heirs to the kingdom of God.
O what a marvelous thought!!! O how simple it would be if we would just follow His commandment for our lives!!! O how much peace and joy we could know if we would just submit to Him and leave the cares of the world behind!!!
O give thanks unto the Lord today for all the many blessings He has bestowed upon us. Count your blessing and give Him all the praise for each one!!!
Remember, we deserved eternal death. But, God in His love for us showed His grace upon us and gave us eternal life in Him.

Psalm 66

“Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious. Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee. All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah. Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men. He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him. He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah. O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard: Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved. For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins. Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place. I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows, Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble. I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah. Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul. I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.”

Romans 6:1-2

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”

Wow!!! What strong words for God's children. Often times we forget that even though we are under God's grace we are still sinners. We still have the lust of the flesh and the pride of life within us. Yes, our Lord died and shed His blood so that we could have eternal life and to be free from sin. But we are still living in this old sinful world with all it's temptations. And satan uses those temptations to draw us away from our Lord and ruin our witness for our Lord.
We must remember that though we are no longer bound by the death grip of our sins we still commit sins. God's grace does not keep us from sinning but it keeps us from dying an eternal death in those sins. God's grace keeps us from God's wrath on those who are not His. Our God is merciful in that He promised us that He would never leave us. He will be there whenever we decide to follow Him rather than follow ourselves.
Sin is selfishness. It is following what we want rather that what God wants. And remember when it is His time He will pull us out of that sin and use us however He wills. As our Heavenly Father, the pulling us out of our sin will not be pleasant. As a parent spanks their child to correct them for their disobedience so does our Heavenly Father jerk us up by the nap of the neck and spank us for not following what He has commanded.
What love our God has for His children!!! So much so that even though we fall deeper and deeper into sin He still loves us and loves us enough to correct us and to show us the way He would have us to go.
A love so strong we cannot refuse it nor run from it when He is ready for us to do His bidding.
Praise God for His everlasting love!!! Praise God for His grace and mercy towards us even when we fail Him over and over again. O Christian, stop living in the sin of this world. Stop following the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. Seek the face of our Lord and Savior. Fall on your knees in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Beg Him for forgiveness for your sins. Then ask Him to give you forgiveness for yourself and those around you.
O lost person, if the Holy Spirit is convicting you of your sins. If He is causing you to see the wickedness of your ways. Follow Him. Believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved!!!

Psalm 75

“Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare. When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly. The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah. I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn: Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them. But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.”

James 1:19-27

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

Psalm 116

“I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me. Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living. I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted: I said in my haste, All men are liars. What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me? I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord. I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds. I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord. I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people. In the courts of the Lord's house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.”

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

O what a glorious thought to know we have been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ!!! O how wonderful it is to know we have been born again. Born out of the death and sin we once were consumed by.

As new creatures in our Lord our old passed of living in sin is gone. We are new creatures. Children of God. Our passions have changed. Our desires are different. Instead of chasing the lust of the world we now have a desire to follow our Lord and Savior. We thirst after His Word. We desire to follow His commandments.

But, lest we forget, we are still living in a body ravaged by sin and that body of flesh and bone tries to draw us back into the sins we once called home. This old sinful body craves the lust of the eyes and of the flesh and of this world. At times we fall to the temptations that come before us. It is a never ending struggle with our great adversary the devil. He will tempt us with everything from our past and with things we never knew possible.

But, Praise God we have a Comforter!!! Praise Go our Lord did not leave us alone to fight these battles!!! Praise God as new creatures in Him we have an advocate who died so that we might live!!! Praise God, because of this newness of life we are made whole in Him and His grace and mercy will forever be with us.

O child of God, if you are living in sin today, come before the Father and beg for grace and mercy!!! Seek His face!!! Run from your sin. Hide in the shadow of His wings. Seek the guidance of our great Comforter. Don't let another day of living in sin go by without seeking forgiveness from our Heavenly Father.

Seek Him. Praise Him. Give Him the glory for saving your soul and guiding you through this life. Remember, with Him we would be on our way to hell and eternal death and torment.

Proverbs 16:18-19

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.”

Pride is a horrible thing. As God's children we all have it at times. Satan seems to understand that this one sin is the one that will draw us the furthest away from our Lord.

Many a child of God has fallen into the wicked trap of pride. Many a false doctrine has been formed from pride in self. Many a haughty spirit has drawn God's people from the truth into these false doctrines.

As we are warned in these verses, Pride always leads to destruction. Our God will not tolerate those who put themselves above Him and before Him. And sadly there is not a one of us who has not none this. Our old sinful nature strives to better ourselves. The lust of the flesh is to live our lives for ourselves and not for our Lord and Savior.

We are to be humble. Yet we struggle with is more than anything else. Our society and the old sinful world we live in draws us to self worship. Even when we have a desire to humble ourselves before the Lord, we still try to do just that in our way and not His. His Word is clear and plain. We are to live our lives for Him and only for Him. Remember who it was that died on the cross to save our souls? Remember who it was who gave their all so that we could have eternal life? Remember who it was that chose us from before the foundation of the earth? It was surely not us! No! It was Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God!!!

O child of God, run from the sin of pride! Run to our Heavenly Father! Stop the sin of pride you are chasing! Beg God for forgiveness in this most hideous sin! Follow the Lord in all things. Humble yourself before the Lord who saved your soul. Humble yourself in all that you do. Pray God would protect you from the temptation of pride and a haughty spirit that comes from our great adversary the devil.

1 Timothy 6:6-8

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.”

God promised us He would provide whatever His people needed in this life. Sometimes He blesses us with extra but that is not promised. Sometimes He blesses others more than He does others. Sometimes we may go through this life with very few worldly possessions. But He will provide what He has declared as being enough for us.

It saddens me to see God's people be so spoiled by their worldly possessions that they want more. They beg God for this and that and when He does not deliver they go out on their own and borrow money they have no way of paying back or that will be a huge struggle for them and their family to pay back. Or they will turn to gambling as a means to get rich quick(ie. Lottery, Publishers Clearing House, casino, any form of games of chance and any other trick of satan to draw them away from God's blessings).

But God tells us to be content with what He has given us. That does not mean we are to sit back and wait on God to lay it into laps. But He will provide the means for us to work to pay for what He intends for us to have. If a person physically cannot work He will provide a way for that also. But if we are physically able to work He will provide what we can afford when we need.

O fellow Christian, Stop begging God for more than He has provided. Stop wrecking your family by charging more than you can afford to pay back. As God to bless you with what He has planned for you. Be content with what our Lord provides. And if He gives you extra praise His name for that.

Praise ye the Lord!!!

Psalm 121

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”

1 John 2:3-6

“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”

O what powerful words our Lord has for us in these verses. We see so many every day who claim the name of of Christ but flat out refuse to follow His commandments. They are wrapped up in the things of this old sinful world and seem to have no care of the testimony they show to those around them. We see a people who say they are holy but the love of the Father is not in them. We see them go to church. We see good deeds they perform. We may even see a loving kindness in them towards others. And that all looks good on the surface.

But what are they doing for Christ? Where do they go? What do the do? Who do they hang out with? Are they truly following the Lord in His commandments?

Many will say what I write here is legalism. But what does God say? Reread the verses above. If we truly love the Lord we will follow His commandments and they will come easy to us and will not be grievous to us. We will know want to keep His commandments. And if we fail in those commandments His Holy Spirit will convict us of that sin and makes wanting to seek our God's forgiveness.

But how many do we see that seem to have no remorse for their sins? How many go through life claiming the name of Christ yet following after the lust of this world and the lust of self? Never changing. Never admitting their sin. Always trying to justify what they do. Yet all the while the very God they claim to know says they are a liar and the truth is not in them.

O dear Christian! Where are we today? Are we following the commandments of our Lord and Savior? Are we living the example He set before us? I dare say that most of us on any given day fall into the trap of the devil and fail our Heavenly Father. We are not without sin just because we look more holy than the person we meet on the street. We have our own sins. Although maybe different than theirs. We still sin and rebel against our Lord. But unlike those others I have mentioned, the Holy Spirit convicts us of those sins. He causes us to want to beg our God for forgiveness. And Praise God!!! He is willing to forgive us of whatever sin we commit. O what a Savior we have!!! O what a glorious Heavenly Father we have!!! Praise God for His Holy Spirit that lives within us and convicts us of our sin and reassures us whose we are!!!

James 1:13-14

“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.”

Temptation of the flesh is a very serious matter to the child of God. We often times fall into the lust that our flesh has due to the sin we were born in from our natural birth. We see the world around us and how they seem to get away with these lust of the flesh with no punishment. We the fun they have and the excitement over takes us at times. As children of God, while we are chasing these lust of the flesh, we will try and say anything to justify our sin. Usually, because we are children of God and believe He controls all in our lives we will try to justify our sin by claiming that we are only doing what God is leading us in.

O what a false hope it is when we try to justify our sin in such a manner. The verses above make it clear that it is not our Heavenly Father who brings the temptations. So if not from Him then who or where do these temptations come? Remember who it was that tempted our Lord while He was on this earth? That's right! Satan! Our great adversary the devil himself. Satan takes the thoughts and desires that are already in our hearts and minds and throws temptations out in front of us. And if we truly have a desire to follow those lust and a desire for the things of the world we will fall every time.

But, our Heavenly Father is merciful and gracious to forgive us if we will only ask. Our Lord will guide us and walk with us and fight these battles for us if we will only ask.

O dear child of God don't try to fight these battles alone. Seek the face of our loving Savior. Run from these temptations of lust of the flesh and fall into the arms of our Lord and Savior. He alone can and will protect us from the great adversary! He alone can and will forgive us our greatest of sins! He alone can and will bring us into His rest and peace.

O what love our Lord has for His own!!!

Joshua 1:9

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

When we are suffering with trials in our life and all seems gloomy and we are in distress, we can rest assured that our Heavenly Father will be there. Listening to us as we pray for help, comforting us while in our grief and despair. Remember He said He would never leave us nor forsake us.

O child of God look to our Heavenly Father in all things. Good and bad. It is all to His glory and to our good. Though the tempest may rage and the seas swell all around us. He is there to to keep us afloat. He is our Savior. And O what a Savior we have!!! O how we should have such praise for Him even in the tough times and most especially in the good times.

Psalm 85

“Lord, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob. Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger. Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease. Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations? Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? Shew us thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us thy salvation. I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly. Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase. Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.”

Galatians 1:10

“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”

As we begin a new week, let us not forget whose we are. Let us not forget who we are here in this world to represent. Those of us who have been saved are children of God. We are no longer imprisoned by this world. Thou at times we may act like it or even seek that which we have been saved from. We must remember who we belong to now. Not who we once were or what we once desired as a slave to sin. As a child of God we are joint-heirs with Jesus Christ. He shed his blood on the cross to save us from our sins. Past, present, and future sins. Yet how many times do we run back to those sins with no regard for the sacrifice that was given to save us from the very sins we commit.

O what wretched sinners we are. O how our old flesh deceives us daily into lusting after those things we have no business desiring. Oh that we would seek to serve God instead of men or ourselves.

O child of God, as we start this new week, seek His face. Pray to our Heavenly Father to guide you on your journey through the old wicked world. Pray for His protection as you go out to face those who are dead in their trespasses and sins. Pray our God will protect you from the temptations of the devil, our great advisory.

Rejoice for our Lord is gracious to forgive us of all our sin. Rejoice for He is good and righteous to those who love Him and who follow His commandments. And if we love Him those commandments will not be grievous but will come easy. Let those around you see your love of your Father. Let them have no doubt of whose you are and where you are going.

Philippians 4:19

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Praise ye the Lord!!! We have a God who SHALL supply our every need!!! Not our lustful wants or our sinful self thought desires, but our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus!!!

Hallelujah!!! What a Father we have that loved us so much before He even created the earth and heavens that He would chose us to be His children for all eternity. What a Savior we have in His Son Jesus Christ that He would shed His blood for us. Knowing all the while we would sin many times against Him in this life. What a Comforter we have in His Holy Spirit that comes into us at the moment  of salvation. To live in this old sinful and lustful body. O how that Comforter gives us such sweet peace in times of despair and grief. O how that Comforter speaks to us and convicts us of our very grossest of sins and causes us to seek his forgiveness even though we are so undeserving. Fore it is the blood of our Lord and Savior that makes deserving!!!

O how our Great Shepherd brings us back to Himself with His rod and staff of loving chastisement when we stray far from His fold. And O how Gracious is the love of our Father is toward us. To all His children. And only toward His children. What an inheritance His has prepared for us. O what a future we have to look forward to with our Heavenly Father. A future of worshiping Him for all eternity!!!

And all this is for His honor and glory!!!

Praise ye the Lord!!!

Psalm 63

“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth. They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes. But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.”

Ephesians 5:1-5

“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.”

Morning Devotional November 4, 2015

Romans 8:12-14

“Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

O what a wonderful Lord and Savior we have!!! O what a blessing to know because of Him we are the sons and daughters of God!!!
Yet everyday we struggle with this old sinful body we live in. The lust of the flesh and the lust of our eyes so many times they keep us from sweet communion with our Heavenly Father. So many times our old flesh gets between us and the One who loved us so much He gave His only begotten Son as the sacrifice for our sins.
What a shame it is that even though we know how He expects us to live we still fall flat on our faces in sin and failures against Him. O that we would follow the lead of the Holy Spirit of God and stop running in the other direction.
We must remember who we are and whose children we are. Fore we are not our own. We are not children of this world. We are children of The King!!! We must act accordingly!!!

Praise ye the Lord!!!

1 John 3:1-3

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Morning Devotional November 2, 2015

1 John 2:15-17

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”

Love not the world. Oh how we need to heed these words today. How many of us get so wrapped up in the world around us and forget who we are and who's we are. If you are a child of God never let that glorious thought leave your mind.

What a shame on His Holy name we can be at times. Lest we forget, we must remember why our Lord, the very Son of God, died on the tree. He died to save us from all our sins. Past, present, and future sins. Yet we live our lives like we have no knowledge of Him and His sacrifice for us. O what a shame we are! What false witnesses we become at times. Even those unsaved out there cannot recognize us as being different from them at times. No wonder we fit in so well with them.

O child of God I beg you today to leave the lust of this world and run back to our Heavenly Father. Leave the life of sin you have fallen into. Seek Him who has forgiven your sins. Get on your knees and beg our Father for mercy.

Pray one for another. If you know others who are following after the world. Pray for our brothers and sisters. Pray that the Lord will convict them of their sin and cause them to repent. Pray He shows mercy on them and those around them. Often times we forget that our sins not only effect us but they also effect those near us.

Never forget who you are and who's you are. You are a child of the King!!! You have a Heavenly Father who loves you so much He sent His only begotten Son to die for you. And all He asks is that we follow His commandments. And those commandments are not grievous if we love Him and will simply follow Him.

Praise ye the Lord!!!

Morning Devotional November 1st, 2015

Psalm 122

“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord. Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together: Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord. For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.”
