Psalm 55:22
“Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee:
he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
Our Lord commands us to pray without ceasing. In good times
and bad we are to pray. But why is it so difficult for us go to our Heavenly
Father with every burden we suffer? Why do we wait till despair and gloom over
take us before we plead for the mercy He has promised?
If we would learn to go to Him in prayer when the problem
first arises instead of waiting till it blows up in our face, how much more
peaceable could our life be? How much less stressful would our daily lives be
if we would just lay our burdens on our Lord like He told us too? Oh, but wait,
they means we would have to follow Him, doesn't it?
Where is our love for our Lord today? Do we love Him enough
to follow His commandments? Or have His commandments become grievous to us
because of our lack of love for Him?
O child of God, follow Christ!!! How we live our lives must
be an example to others of how much we love our Lord. Are we willing to
sacrifice all for Him? Are we willing to flee the lust of the world and the
pride of life to live a life of peace and joy in Christ Jesus? We must have our
priorities straight. Set your eyes on things above. Seek His face in all that
you do and He will give you peace.
