Psalm 116:12
“What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits
toward me?”
In this life what do we have to offer our Lord for what He
has done for us? Is there anything we have to offer that is good enough? Is
there anything we can offer that He would want?
John 4:23-24
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers
shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to
worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship
him in spirit and in truth.”
The answer is simple. But perhaps more simple than we want
to admit. God's desire is for His people to worship Him and only Him. When we
go to God to worship Him, whether in private or public worship, we “must
worship Him in spirit and truth.” No form of false doctrine or half-truth(if
there is such a thing) will do. God will not honor and is not pleased by
worship that is not lead by His Holy Spirit and is not truth.
On this week that we will celebrate a day of Thanksgiving to
God for His mercies and blessings over the past year, many will claim the name
of Christ and claim His blessings as their own for this one day or maybe for
the whole week. Our worship for God is not turned on and off like a water
faucet. Nor does it turn into a pumpkin at midnight on Thanksgiving night not
to rise again until the next holy day.
Our love and admiration and our worship for our God, our
Heavenly Father, is everlasting and never ending. The true worshippers are the
ones He seeks. For it is those who are His own. It is those whom He chose
before the foundations of the world. This worship in spirit and in truth is
what our Heavenly Father desires and requires from His children.
Praise ye the Lord!!!
