John 15:18
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.”
Why do we stand in amazement at the fact that the world hates us for being a child of God? Jesus told His disciples several times that the unsaved world would hate them for their love of Him. But it's not just our love for Jesus that causes them to hate us. It is the fact that they hated Him first. It is because of His love for us that we are hated.
The world will often accuse us of thinking we are better than they because of Christ. Truth be known, we do have something better than they. Remember, we have the love of Jesus Christ which gave us eternal life in Him. What does the world have to offer that is better than that?
Though we may be the poorest of the poor or the most persecuted people on earth, we still have an inheritance much more than any in this old world can afford.
Child of God, don't let the world get you down with their hatred for you because of your love for Jesus. Remember it is not you they truly hate, but rather our Lord and Savior.
