Jeremiah 1:14-16

Then the Lord said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land. For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the Lord; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah. And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.”

I will start by saying that I do not believe that we in the Western world as Christians are on the same level as the children of Israel were in the Old Testament. Nor do I believe in what is referred to as “Replacement Theology” which is the belief that the church(universal) has replaced Israel as God's chosen people. These are both false doctrines and are not supported by God's Word.
That being said, we see the verses above. God is showing and telling Jeremiah what He is about to do to Judea. God has instructed Jeremiah that he will have a time in which God wants him to preach to the people. Jeremiah is to warn the people of their wicked ways and of God's coming judgement on them if they don't turn from their sin and repent. But God also makes it clear to Jeremiah they will not hear and will not repent. God makes it clear also that Jeremiah will be persecuted and ridiculed and tormented for standing for the truth. And God assures Jeremiah He will be with him through it all and will protect him through it all.
Now to our day and time. As a people who want to claim the name of Christ. The vast majority of the nations in Western Europe and the Americas want to claim they are Christian nations. Rooted and founded on some form of Christianity. Most on Catholicism or the harlot daughters thereof.
Just like the nations of Israel and Judea wanted to claim the name of God but wanted to follow their own lust so are the people who want to claim the name of Christ today. Sadly it is not just limited to those outside the true churches. Many of the membership of true churches are the same!
So many have fallen for the false religions of the world. Many church services are steeped in paganism or the false doctrines of the free will teachers. Sports and entertainment have taken president over the teaching of God's Word. Many Vacation Bible Schools and Youth Camps are more about fun and games than teaching our youth the truths of God's Word. We invite speakers to our churches who are known for their funny jokes or for their motivational speaking or the nice stories. Anything other than hell, fire, and brimstone preaching we heard ages ago. And we wonder why our youth are so easily persuaded by every wind of doctrine that blows?
What a disgrace we have become to our Heavenly Father!!! What a shame to the Bride-Groom we are!!! And all because of our rebellion against the one who gave His all for us. All because we want it our way and not His. Because we have made His commandments grievous for ourselves because of our lack of love for our Lord and Savior.
O child of God, flee the sinful lust of this lost and dying world. Leave behind the lust of thy youth. Follow the one who will give you peace. Put all your faith and trust in the one who bled and died for His chosen people.
But praise God, He loves us. Praise God, for a Bride-Groom who is patient and long suffering towards His bride. Who is willing to take her sins and temptations and turn them into lessons to teach her to be holy and righteous and all this for preparing her for Himself.
Pastors/teachers are you preaching the whole counsel of God? Or are you tickling the ears of the people and giving them what they want and not what they need? At the cost of your position have you given in to crowd and followed them instead of you leading them? What will be the consequences of what you have done or not have done?

Praise ye the Lord!!!
