Luke 12:54-56
“54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.
56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?”
Have you ever noticed how people, God's people even, have learned to predict the signs of the seasons and guess at the weather patterns as well as most professional meteorologists? Yet, the same people can't seem to discern the times in which we live as being not much different than the days of Noah our Lord warned about. It's a sad thing that so many of God's people seem to fear the return of the Lord more than they do living in this life. But, maybe, it's because they have good reason to fear our Lord's return?
O child of God, are you chasing after the world or watching for the return of our Lord and Savior? Where is your hope today? Is it in the promises of this old wicked world or is your hope in the return of our Lord Jesus Christ?
Praise ye the Lord!!!
