1 Timothy 5:8
“But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.”
How often we forget to whom Paul was writing here. Remember the letters of I and II Timothy and Titus were written to young men who had a desire to pastor churches. These were letters of instruction on how, they as Elders, were to conduct themselves in the Lord's churches. The Pastors and/or Deacons are to set the example of daily living before the rest of the congregation. They are not to lord over them but rather, humbly teach by word and deed.
