2 Samuel 12:13
“And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. And Nathan said unto David, The Lord also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.”
There is a great misnomer out there today. Many of God's children think because they have been saved by the grace of God they are no longer required to repent of their sin. But, all through the Old Testament and the New Testament we see examples of God's people doing such. This doctrine is taught from beginning to end of God's Word.
Even when we repent there can be consequences for our sin. King David lost a son because of his sin. He also lost other children later in life from his sins. Yet, God called David a man after His own heart. And we read the writings of David and see a very repentant man. A man who suffered greatly for his sin and was blessed greatly for his faithfulness to God.
It is true, if we are God's elect we can not sin enough to send ourselves to hell. But as God's children we are held to a high standard in this life by our Heavenly Father.
No amount of proclaiming “Liberty” can excuse our sins in this life. No amount of “Liberty” gives us freedom from going before God and begging for forgiveness for our sins. We are commanded over and over in His Word to do so. To preach “Liberty” from sin is to preach heresy and the doctrines of devils.
So who do we believe? A preacher preaching lies or the Word of God. Do you want freedom from your sin and freedom from the chastisement of our Heavenly Father? If you love Him, follow His commandments.
Praise ye the Lord!!!
