Psalm 116:12-19
“12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?
13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.
18 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
19 In the courts of the Lord's house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.”
In verse 12 David asks a question that perhaps we have all asked from time to time. What shall we give the Lord for all the blessings He has given us? How do we repay the Creator of all things? How can we repay the one who died for our sins and loved us so much He gave us eternal life?
In verses 13-18 David humbly answers the question the best way he knew how! And OH what an answer!!!
In verse 19 king David advises the Lord's people to do the same.
Oh what glorious instruction from our Lord on what He expects from His people. Nothing difficult. Just follow His commandments, give Him all worship and Praise, go before Him with thanksgivings, and call upon His name in prayer and communion. Nothing difficult for the child who truly loves their Lord and Savior!!!
Praise ye the Lord!!!
