“16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”
In our day and time we like to compare these verses with our politicians and government representatives and leaders. And rightfully so, because many if not most of those folks fit the bill.
But the more disturbing issue is when we see those in the Lord's churches who fit these verses. Or maybe when we examine ourselves we see these in ourselves. As children of God we should never be following the world into any of these. Not even one. But it happens. Though we are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ we still live in a sin ravaged body.
Did you notice in the verses above that the Lord hates the first six? But it is the addition of the seventh that makes them all an abomination. So it is if you are doing one you are doing them all.
