“1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”
Today we are seeing a total upheaval and rebellion against the Biblical values our nation was found upon. Their are groups of terrorist who are destroying public and private property and crying out against the rule of law our founding fathers put in place to protect the citizens of our country. Protesters and rioters who have no clear direction in what they want. Their demands seem to change almost daily. Innocent people and businesses are targeted for no apparent reason other than because they are there.
Yet, I see so many people who claim the name of Christ following after this movement. Taking sympathy upon the ungodly and siding with the devil. Cheering on the unrighteous acts of the ungodly. With no thought of “trying the spirits”. The destruction of our Godly Heritage seems to be the goal and some of God's people are blindly following the ungodly world in their endeavors. Many would rather listen to the cries of the ungodly than to adhere to the commandments of our Lord and Savior.
O child of God, where do you stand today? Who do you stand in alliance with today? Are you following Christ or following a lost and dying world? Read our text verses again. Contemplate these things.
