Morning Devotional May 10, 2018

Psalm 63:1-3
“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.”

O child of God, do you seek after God? Do you thirst for Him and His Word? As children of God our life should be consumed with seeking to please our Heavenly Father. We should have a thirst for nothing but His Word. Our love of God should be so that we would be wanting to follow Him wherever He would have us to go. No matter the threat of danger or the loss of worldly possessions.
We must have a thirst for God's Word. So much so that it permeates our very being. Our love for our Lord is to be so strong and so deep that we are to be wanting and willing to follow His every command He has for us.
In His Word and in our lives we have seen His power and glory many times. Yet, we stray and we rebel. Daily we sin against the God we love. Daily we refuse to acknowledge and to share the truth of His Gospel to others around us. O what a sorry lot we are! O what rebellious children and unholy and wretched sort we can be!
And even through all our rebellion, our Heavenly Father is gracious and merciful in His love for us. By all rights He could destroy us. But not God. He loves us. Because of His love for us, He chastises us and teaches us the error of our ways and sets us back on the straight and narrow path He would have us on.
O if not for the love of our Heavenly Father we would be as those who will be cast into the pit! But God, loves His children. God is patient and loving to those whom He loves. Praise God for His loving kindness toward us His disobedient children!!!

Praise ye the Lord!!!
