Morning Devotional May 19, 2018

John 15:18-19
“18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”

As we grow closer to our Lord in our daily walk with Him, we often times see the attacks of those around us who have no idea, nor have any desire to know, why we long for the love and grace and mercy of our Lord and Savior. Those who are of this world will often times ridicule us and in some cases even persecute us for our desire to follow our Lord. Sometimes it is out of pure hatred for us and our Lord. For others it may just be the fact they don't understand the power our Lord has over His children and especially those who are called into the ministry.
Jesus reminds us here that all these persecutions we see are because of His love for us and because the world hates Him so much that they hate His children also. So since they cannot see Him and cannot touch Him they take their frustrations and their torments out on those of His they can see and touch. The more of Christ that is seen in us the more the world hates us and Him.
Child of God, do not be discouraged by the hatred the world has for you. Do not let the hatred they have for our Lord drag you down. Look to Christ in all thinks. If following Christ brings tribulation from those in the world then so be it. Consider it an honor to be counted with the Saints of God. Give God the glory and praise He deserves and fret not over what the world thinks or does.
Pray without ceasing. Love your brethren. Flee the lust and the desires of the world. Follow Christ. Seek His face in all that we do. Seek to please Him only. Remember, it is because of Him that the world hates us.

Praise ye the Lord!!!
